Jasna Adventures, the traval and ski chalet company based at Jasna in the Low Tatra mountains of Slovakia is seeking managers and staff for the 21/22 winter season and beyond.
Jasna Adventures owns and operates its own ski chalet, apres ski bar and provides complementary guests services for their clients, most of whom are based in the UK.
The Dragon’s Lair chalet is based at Jasna, Slovakia and owned and operated by Jasna Adventures. It sleeps 19 people in five bedrooms, and includes a guest lounge, terrace, and wellness with Jacuzzi and sauna.
BarFakt is our apres ski bar and is open every day of the season serving bar food and a full range of drinks for chalet guests and the pubic.
We’re looking for a gap year ski chalet apprentice for the winter season to assist with general duties around the chalet and looking after guests.
If you’re looking for the opportunity to spend a season in a ski resort, put in some hard yards, but get plenty of time for getting on the snow, then we should chat further.
You will work with other chalet staff to ensure a great guests experience
Main duties include:
- Bar work
- Looking after the chalet firewood, shovelling snow, cleaning vehicles
- Driving lift transfers, airport transfers, guest transport
- Ski orientation with guests
- Assist with ski tech for our in-chalet ski hire
- Assist chalet maintenance
You will be provided training on the job. You will work on a roster with scheduled time off.
You will work closely with and under the supervision of the chalet managers.
We won’t hire you for your experience but for your attitude.
Dates and Standard working hours
- Start mid-December until mid-April (end date to be mutually agreed)
- 1 rostered day off per week
- Minimum fixed time off each working day between 1000 and 1400
- Any time you’re not required to work you are welcome go skiing

Personal attributes
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to use self-initiative and judgement
- Friendly and positive with an outgoing, but not overbearing, attitude.
- Able to relate to people from different backgrounds
- Self - organized with good time management, and able maintain a schedule
- Clean and tidy
- Drivers' licence with good driving experience and clean record.
Ideally you will have:
- Customer service experience (hospitality, retail or similar)
- Skiing/boarding ability at an intermediate level or higher.
- Permission to work in the EU
Main responsibilities
Daily bar and kitchen duties
- Preparing and serving drinks and food
- Assisting in the bar kitchen
- Maintaining and friendly, positive and welcoming customer experience that makes people want to come back
- maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards
Standard working hours
- Start mid-December until mid-April (end date to be mutually agreed)
- Bar shifts available from – 15.00 until 22h00
