Jasna Adventures, based at Jasna in the Low Tatra mountains of Slovakia is seeking a full time live in chalet host and drivers (individual or couple) for the 19/20 winter season.


The Dragon’s Lair chalet is based at Jasna, Slovakia and owned and operated by Jasna Adventures.  It sleeps 19 people in five bedrooms, and includes a guest lounge, terrace, and wellness with Jacuzzi and sauna, and its own public bar. Jasna is the largest and best ski resort in Slovakia.

Chalet Couple - Host and driver

Host guests from airport to chalet to mountain - get paid to ski!

These are a key roles which include a lot of guest contact, from preparing and serving breakfast, ski hosting with guests, keeping the chalet tidy, driving guests to and from lifts, and driving airport transfers.


You will work closely with and under the supervision of the chalet owners.

 

You’ll get time for skiing most days, and dedicated time off each week.  


Key Duties

Chalet Host

- Cook and serve breakfast and apres drinks/snacks

- Engage with guests and ensure their needs are being met whilst in the chalet

- Ensure the chalet is kept clean and tidy and that health and hygiene standards are met throughout the season. Assist with changeover days.

- As required - Ski hosting with guests

- As required - Cook and serve dinner (half board weeks only)


Driver

- Drive guests in the chalet shuttle bus (morning afternoon, evening)

- Drive airport transfers 

- As required - Ski hosting with guests

- As required - Assist with dinner preparations and serving (Half board weeks only)



Personal attributes

- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision

- Able to use self-initiative and judgement

- Friendly and positive with an outgoing, but not overbearing, attitude.

- Able to related to people from different backgrounds

- Self - organized with good time management, and able maintain a schedule

- Clean and tidy

- Drivers' licence with good driving experience and clean record.


Ideally you will have:

- Previous ski chalet, hotel or hospitality/customer service experience

- Previous cooking experience, with willingness to try new dishes

- Skiing ability from intermediate to advance level.

- Permission to work in Slovakia (the EU)

Bar & Kitchen Leader

Ski the days, works the nights, sleep when you’re dead!

Main responsibilities

1. daily running of the bar and kitchen (90%)

-  Bar opening and closing

-  Serving behind the bar

-  Cooking in the bar kitchen (pizza, nachos, chicken wings)

-  monitoring stock levels and completing order sheet

-  maintaining hygiene standards

2. As required, ski orientation with guests to show them the resort set up (10%)

Standard working hours

-  Start 15 December 2019 until mid-April (end date to be mutually agreed)

-  Bar shifts - 14h30 until 22h00 (Bar opens from 15h00)

-  Ski orientation – As required, usually Sunday mornings, around 2 hours skiing with guests.

-  1 rostered day off per week

-  Any time you’re not required to work you are welcome go skiing and use the chalet van with other staff.

Gap Year Chalet apprentice

Spend a season in a ski resort - work hard, play harder!

We’re looking for a gap year ski chalet apprentice for the winter season to assist with general duties around the chalet and looking after guests.

If you’re looking for the opportunity to spend a season in a ski resort, put in some hard yards, but get plenty of time for getting on the snow, then we should chat further.  

You will work with other chalet staff to ensure a great guests experience  

Main duties will include:

-  Looking after the chalet firewood, shovelling snow, cleaning vehicles

-  Helping with driving (lift transfers, airport transfers)

-  Ski orientation with guests

-  Assist with ski tech for our in-chalet ski hire

-  Assist chalet maintenance

-  Assist with bar work


You will be provided training on the job.  You will work on a roster with scheduled time off.

You will work closely with and under the supervision of the chalet owners, who are Australian and Slovak.

We won’t hire you for your experience but for your attitude.
