Many people focus on altitude to find a snow-sure resort. Whilst higher altitude absolutely helps, it's not the only factor for snow sure conditions.
The geographic position of mountains is a significant factor too. With Jasna being further north and east than the Alps our winters tend to come earlier and last longer. So, despite the base of Jasna being at 950m we get colder temps at that altitude than at equivalent altitude to the French Alps, ensuring early snow fall and the resort operating from mid-December until mid/late April each year.
So, whilst Jasna’s highest point at 2000m is below many Alps resorts, our geographic position brings the snow for skiing from December to April.
